Winter Wonder land

Before moving to Utah I was not a fan of the snow, it was cold, wet and just not fun. Growing up in southern Georgia we did not get much snow, and if it did snow the whole city shutdown. Needless to say it was not a fun experience.
Then when I moved to Germany I got to have more time with snow. Only this time I could not stay at home and sit by the fire, I had to go out in it. Though it was still cold and wet, it wasn’t so bad. I got used to it, just something we lived with.
Then came Utah winters. The first winter I was here I did not have a car and had to walk everywhere. This was fun at first, because it reminded me of my time in Germany. This “fun” soon faded. The snow would turn black and become like slush. I would have cars splash this nasty slush all over my shoes and soak my feet. Again the snow was cold, wet and just not fun. This continued on, and by the next winter I was more prepared for my second winter.
Luckily, by the time winter came around I had met a nice young man, he either liked me or just had pity on me, that gave me rides to places I needed to go. This made life more enjoyable, making the snow a bit more enjoyable again.

Now, I have a car, and big boots to keep me warm in the cold winter months. Look at the beauty of the snow on the mountains rather then the nasty slush on the ground. I look at the wonderful pictures I can create because of the snow, instead of the cold wet pants I might have after a long shoot. I hope that my appreciation for the snow will grow enough that I might even want to go skiing or sledding one day.
